Summer Giveaway!

Thursday, July 18, 2013

I appreciate everyone who took the time to comment and vote in my Tervis tumber poll.  As you can see, it was close.

I have ordered my new tumbler and even got free shipping with the promo code: PREVIEW!

I thought it would be fun to host a giveaway where you could win the chance to customize your own Tervis but Tervis doesn’t have gift certificates.  So, I had to go to plan B – a Mastercard gift card!

With the Mastercard gift card you could get something from Tervis.

Or, something from Erin Condren.

Or anything your heart desires.

The giveaway ends on July 22 and I’ll announce the winner on the 23rd.  Good luck everyone!

It's time for some shopping!

Friday, November 23, 2012

I love this time of year!  After spending time with family enjoying some amazing food, it's time for some serious shopping. If you're like me, you have a few things on your TpT wishlist.  Honestly, I have more than a few (77 to be exact) and it's time to take care of that. TpT is hosting a sale and many sellers are joining in on the fun (including me!). Be sure to drop by and start snagging some great products.  To sweeten the deal, I'm going to have a drawing for a $10 TpT giftcard.  Leave a comment below with your email address so that I can contact you if you're the lucky winner. You have until 5 pm Central time on Sunday to enter the drawing. At that time I'll use a random number generator to pick one lucky winner. How many items do you have on your TpT wishlist?  What's the best thing you've bought from TpT?

I'll race you to the checkout!!!

Paper Bag Matter Book Revisited

Thursday, November 8, 2012
Hey, everyone!  It’s been awhile since I’ve posted.  I’m still here but I’ve been uber busy working on a few projects.
I recently updated my Matter Book that I posted about here.  It’s now bigger and better than it was before!

Here’s an example of a Sink or Float foldable I use every year.  I used to have the kids draw their own chart but too many of them have difficulty organizing their work space.  To preserve my sanity (what little bit is left), I created this chart.  Click on either pic below to get your own copy of my Sink or Float Recording Sheet for FREE.

If you’re interested in the entire Paper Bag Matter Book file, you can find it in my TpT store.
If you haven’t seen this yet, then you need to go check it out.  My bloggy friend Megan at I Teach. What’s Your Super Power?  is having a humongous 500 Follower giveaway!  There are a lot of awesome prizes to win but it ends this weekend so hop on over.

Have a great weekend and good luck in Megan’s giveaway!

200 Follower Giveaway!!

Friday, October 19, 2012
I’m amazed to know that I have over 200 fantastic people following my blog!!   This calls for a celebration!  Instead of having the typical giveaway with only one winner, I’d like to show my gratitude by making everyone a winner.  Keep reading to find out what you can get.

I have 4 versions of BOOM! available in my TPT store – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  The kids get a kick out of playing this game because the container looks like dynamite.

The container is super easy to make.  I made mine by covering a Pringle’s can with red Contact paper.  The hardest part was eating enough Pringle’s for a class set of these games…yeah, right!

The addition version is a free download.  Click on the pic above if you haven’t already grabbed it.

UPDATE: This giveaway has closed.
Now, here’s the good part:
I will give all my awesome followers their pick from my other three sets.

All you need to do is leave me a comment with the name you’re following under and your choice of one of the above sets.  Please leave me your email addy so I can send the file to you.  I’ll send the file as soon as I can, but you might want to make a run to the store to get some Pringle’s while you’re waiting.
Please spread the word if you know anyone who might be interested.  This giveaway will close Sunday night (10/21/12) at midnight.
Thanks for following me!

August Currently

Saturday, August 4, 2012
Tick, tock, tick, tock. It’s that time again!! I need to hurry up and accomplish a zillion things before school starts. I want to feel relaxed and refreshed for the start of a new school year, but I have too much to do!!!! Can you hear the panic in my voice?!
I’m linking up with Farley from Oh Boy Fourth Grade to share my August Currently.

If you don’t have your own laminator, you gotta get one!  I usually don’t have a problem with spending money, but I was a little reluctant to buy my own laminator at first.  It’s not like they cost a lot, but teachers already spend so much of their own money on their classrooms.  Why spend even more on a laminator when you can laminate for free at school?  I’ll tell you why…because it is so dang CONVENIENT!!!!  I don’t have to wait in line or share.  It’s not that I’m selfish but sharing and waiting take up precious time, especially the days right before school starts!  I love my new little laminator and I think we’re going to get along very well.
I know you’re busy, but there are 2 giveaways you need to enter if you haven’t already.
Fourth Grade Flipper is having a 100 follower giveaway.  You can win a $25 gift card to Amazon.  You can buy your own laminator or laminating pouches.

Michelle at No Monkey Business is having a 500 follower giveaway!  She has all kinds of goodies to win including a $50 TPT gift certificate.  We all need one of those.

I’m going to go slow down and try to relax.  Enjoy your weekend!

Flash Freebie!

Sunday, July 29, 2012

We have a winner! Congrats to Tiffany B. for winning the 100 follower giveaway!!  I appreciate everyone who participated in this giveaway.  To show my gratitude I’m having a flash freebie.
My students need all the practice they can get when it comes to rounding numbers so I created KAPOW! Rounding.  It is similar to my BOOM! Addition game for those who are familiar with that game.  What makes this game novel is that the game cards are stored in an used, but clean, frosting can.

Students take turns drawing a card out of the can.  If they round the number correctly, they get to keep the card.  Play continues until someone pulls out the KAPOW! card.  Whoever has the most cards is the winner.  KAPOW! Rounding includes two sets of cards for a total of 52 rounding cards. The blue set is for rounding to the nearest ten and the red set is for rounding to the nearest hundred. You can combine the sets or use them separately depending on the skill level of your students.

To snag your own copy of this game, click on the picture above to go to my TPT store.  This game will be free until 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Monday, then it goes back to its regular price.  I hope your class enjoys it as much as my class does.
Thanks for visiting – I appreciate you!!!

Rockin’ Resources Linky

Wednesday, July 25, 2012
I’m linking up with Kelley from Teacher Idea Factory to share some classroom resources that I can live without.

Kelley has already shared the Creative Mathematics books from Kim Sutton.  These are my go to books for meaningful math practice activities.  Here are two of my favorites:

Another Kim Sutton product that I love is her dice.  These place value decahedron dice are my faves!  These dice are awesome for practicing expanded notation.  Each color die represents a different place value and go up through the hundred thousands place.

I also LOVE anything by Dinah Zike!!  I have nearly every book she’s published that applies to 3rd grade.  I even have some that don’t because her ideas can be modified for any grade.  These are my favorites:

There are so many things you can do with foldables. Here are some pix I took at the Dinah Zike booth at a recent math convention.  I hope the pictures don’t make you dizzy.  I was juggling a 50 lb. backpack while I was taking these pictures with my phone.

Kelley at Teacher Idea Factory is having a giveaway with her favorite classroom items.  Go check it out and enter for a chance to win some awesome stuff.
Don’t forget to enter my giveaway if you haven’t already.
